Repeatedly, I have jobs set with an expiry date by my Editors, and then the post does not expire. The warning I see beside these jobs is a yellow circle with an exclamation mark and the dialogue “Cron event not found!”
Why is the plugin failing to do its job? This issue has been dogging us since before the latest update.

Some of my posts expire, and some don’t — and I can’t determine what. makes some fail.
Here’s what comes up in the debug log when something fails: EXISTING FOUND – UNSCHEDULED – no error

I suspect this may be happening: When my users revive an expired post (this is for a job board, and some jobs expire and come back later in the year) they set a new expiry date but the system does not seem to process or allow the new expiry.

Plugin author help for this will be is greatly appreciated.

  • Came to report same – getting “Cron event not found!” like Veronica describes. But with our system it’s in new posting – we don’t generally revive old posts.

I have found that re-editing the post and changing some value in the expiry fields will remove the error. But the extra step is unwelcome.

I am facing a similar problem after the last update.
Post Expiration remove category is no longer working and showing “Cron event not found!”

To all folks experiencing this issue, please follow the thread and temporary alpha patch here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/cron-event-not-found/#post-15261150

I believe if this patch continues to satisfy the issue, the plugin authors will add it to the next official update.

    Good luck!

Thanks Veronica – but we won’t install an alpha patch on our production installs.
Would be great if they (plugin devs) would just fix it. ??

Please update to version 2.7.2 which should fix this issue.

If it doesn’t fix this, please start a new thread with these 3 details:

    1. Use a plugin like this to rollback to an earlier version: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-rollback/. What specific versions do work correctly?
    2. Disable other plugins one-by-one. Is there a plugin conflict here?
    3. Share a screenshot of both your “Defaults” and your “Post Type” settings.`

The cron error message still appears in 2.7.3.
