    If I manually run the import the CSV is properly imported and roles are updated.

    If the cron job runs the import, the roles are not updated. The cron import log shows it’s mapping the correct fields, but it doesn’t appear to do anything.

    See the screenshot:

    I should also note that I have manually ran the cron job with WP Core Control to verify the cron job is working.

    I created a new import file that only contained a NEW user with two roles (primary and secondary) however the first role was created as a “capability” and the secondary role was assigned as the primary role.

    Here’s a screenshot of the import file: https://imgur.com/a/CHBRTEx

    So it seems that the option “Update roles for existing users?” found on the Import tab does not apply to the Cron job? The import works exactly as intended when manually imported, however, the cron job functionality seems to be limited and/or lacking the features of the Import tab.

    I have yet to get the plugin to update the users role(s) when import is executed via a cron job.

    @wimadmin,

    I have just seen the code and “Import” functionality have not this feature.

    You can disable the role assignement or choose one role or another, but not from the file.

    Thanks!

    Will this ever become possible via cron job? To update user roles? The plugin works great in other respects, but this would be a wonderful additional function!

    @nmust,

    Yes we know it would be great.

    If you want to be the person who support this develop contact us directly and we tell you how we proceed.

    Dear Javier,

    I wish I could contribute to the development of that capability, but I think I’d be a little out of my depth as I’m fairly new to WordPress.

    @nmust,

    You can also donate to support this develop and we will include your name in credits.

    Of course I’m happy to – and have a little deja – but not for name in credits just for capability to exist. And forgive my asking – if you are able to pursue this development, is there any sense of timeframe or is it not possible to know?
    Thank you!

    @nmust,

    Sorry but my English is not so good. I don’t understand what are you telling me.

    Could you explain please?

    My apologies, sometimes my english is not great either (to make matters worse it looks like my brain dropped in a french word too)!
    In any case, I was just saying that I did donate a little but not for name to be mentioned in credits but because the ability to update user roles in a cron job would be very useful!
    And I also wondered about the timeframe of developing that capability (when the update might appear) if you were able to work on it!
    Sorry about my confusion message!

    @nmust,

    Ah OK I have just seen the donation :), thanks!! We will try to do it as soon as possible.

    I tell you here and you will see a new version of the plugin with this feature.

    If all goes ok it must be done today or tomorow.

    @carazo,

    That would be great!

    And thank you to @nmust for donating!

    Just did it.

    The problem was that in cron import we could not set “Update existing users roles” to true, so it was not updating those roles in users that are being updated.

    I am going to release the new version now.

    If you have any more problem, open a new thread.

    Hi Javier, thank you for updating. I have tested the updated version and it still does not import roles. I will create a new thread.

    I’ve tested it a couple of times and it works great! Thanks for taking the time to make this possible.
