Hello, I have a problem after moving my website. The fonts no longer load correctly and the design has been destroyed. Here is the error message:

Cross-source (cross-origin) request blocked: The same-source rule prohibits reading the external resource

downloadable font: download failed (font-family: “Open Sans” style:normal weight:500 stretch:100 src index:0): bad URI or cross-site access not allowed source:

I don′t know, how I fix this. the problem is the old host (old website) and the link to there with the fonts. How can I solve this? There are local fonts in WP-Content that still link to the previous website.

I used your plugin and entered the old and new site, but it did nothing.

  • Hi @anna88sabu!

Better Search Replace Support Team here. Thanks for reaching out with your query! We would be happy to assist.

If the plugin isn’t able to find the old domain, the old domain links might be saved on the site files. Can you please confirm if this is the case?

Please note that the plugin will only be able to search and replace strings that exist in the database.

    I don′t know. I see this in the console: https://oldsite/wp-content/astra-local-fonts/… and https://newsite/wp-content/astra-local-fonts/….

This is the cross-origin. I have this issue: downloadable font: download failed (font-family: “Open Sans” style:normal weight:500 stretch:100 src index:0): bad URI or cross-site access not allowed source

The other thinks are ok. Picture, menue is ok and the links are ok. Only the astra-local-fonts are the issue with the old link.

    Hi @anna88sabu,

Unfortunately, we will not be able to check this on our end, you will have to see if these fonts are saved and loaded through the database. Or if they are saved in your site files. If they are saved in your site files, then you would need to change them manually as Better Search and Replace will not be able to edit site files.

    Thank you.

    Thanks for your answer.

I had this problem after moving my site to another domain. The fonts showed a link that still ran to the old domain. I saw this in the developer console and adjusted the link manually via FTP. It was the Astra theme and the additional editor Spectra. You can set in Spectra: load locally. This is not so easy for a move with plugins to the new domain with move plugins. You have to adjust the folders manually, the folder structure is complicated for a domain move due to the local fonts with Spectra.
The plugin better search & replace could only partially help.

    Hi @anna88sabu,

Thanks for the update, glad to hear you were able to resolve the issue!

I’m afraid that is the expected behavior of Better Search Replace, it can only find and replace contents inside your database. Since you changed the links via FTP, it means that those links are stored in the site files which BSR can’t find and edit.

    Hope this clarifies!
