cross-site login with WP.com

  • Hi, i wonder if its possible somehow to get users able to comment on a self hosted wordpress with their wordpress.com username, maybe with an api key?

  • Most people do NOT want to register or login… just for a brief comment. That’s the most annoying thing in the whole blogoshere ??

    yes, thats why i had this idea, because some pople have an account at wordpress.com but they wont signup in every blog they saw and want to comment…

    Take a look at teh OpenID plugin. I’d give you a link but I’m on a locked down terminal.

    Do note though that wp.com (or any other decent site) is not going to share login information with a third party. *BIG* security risk there.

    As an aside, we would have folks ask about once a week why their login didn’t work elsewhere. “It says wordpress”….

    lol, i will take a look at openID, i know about securty risks…
    i was looking some kind of universal autentication behind all wordpress bassed sites…
