• I installed WP at /mercy & at /wordpress. I messed up /wordpress & attempted to restore the files using FileZilla, but stupidly restored the /mercy To the /wordpress directory. Now when I attempt to access the Dashboard at /wordpress/wp-admin/index.php, it takes me to the /mercy directory & dashboard instead. I checked the PHPAdmin and the DB is still good with the posts, etc., but I everything on the page is coming from the OTHER DB. Anyway I can ‘reset’ or restore, or must I dump the old DB?

  • Does wp-config.php point to the proper database and database prefix?

I’m not sure, but if I try to access wp-config.php, it says
“…/public_html/wordpress/wp-admin/wp-includes/wp-db.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in …/public_html/wordpress/wp-admin/wp-settings.php on line 59”
If I try to run install again, it says I must delete the old DB. I was hoping to find a way to ‘reset’ whatever pointer there is. Pretend I’m a dummy (not far wrong) if you can explain how to go about it.
    ((Thanks for your quick response.))

Don’t run wp-config.php. Edit it. Use a shell account or your favorite FTP client.
