Hi brody182, thank you for your question. The following explains what CryptoPHP is.
CryptoPHP is a threat that uses backdoored Joomla, WordPress and Drupal themes and plug-ins to compromise webservers on a large scale. By publishing pirated themes and plug-ins free for anyone to use instead of having to pay for them, the CryptoPHP actor is social engineering site administrators into installing the included backdoor on their server.
From the above explanation this plugin does protect you from intruders, backdoors and more. In regards to CryptoPHP as long as you don’t install a bad coded theme or plugin you are safe. All security plugins here in WordPress are great at protecting your website or blog.
However the security plugins are limited in the sense that they cannot control what a user decides to install. There are plugins and themes that are coded incorrectly and some are out of date.
That is why I recommend that you read about a theme or plugin before you install them. You also only install from reputable companies or developers especially WordPress which maintains a vigilant control over what is accepted in their repository. Your WordPress version should always be up to date and you should never install plugins or themes that are not compatible with the latest version or the version that you might be running.
I hope this helps you with your question.
Regards
