CSS aesthetic issues- no theme support

Hi there. Sorry for the vague topic title. I’m having a few issues that I can’t seem to work out.
First, my theme is a commercial theme called “Serendipity”. However, I have changed it so much, it is beyond recognition. Serendipity does not have support, and I have tried everything. Now I just need help.
I am new at CSS.
I am working on three things at the moment-
1) Create two very thin lines- one on top, and one on bottom of my menu

2)Move the comment bar (entry.meta) from just underneath the post title, to the bottom of the post

3)Figure out formatting on my “Recipes” tab. I tried using the gallery feature, but it isn’t formatting well.

I would greatly appreciate any help. I really don’t know what I’m doing, so the more detailed your reply, the better.
