CSS code stays black and can’t be saved

Hi Nico,

Unfortunately, we’re having trouble replicating this issue locally and we haven’t received any other reports so I’m not too sure what could be causing this. Do you have another WordPress website? If so, are you able to replicate that issue on that website?

I have no second wordpress site.
For years the css code was in color, could be changed and saved.
Since yesterday the code is black and can’t be changed and saved.

In the latest SiteOrigin CSS update we switched to the WordPress version of CodeMirror.

If you want I can give you a one week login through this plugin

Unfortunately, this isn’t allowed. To be clear, everything you and I post here is public so anyone could click that link and access your website.

The two buttons (eye and double arrow) at left top corner of the css field also don’t work.

After clicking the buttons, can you please send me a copy of your browser console? Your browser console should hopefully include a JavaScript error. Please refer to this guide on how to access your browser console.

Thanks. The provided screenshot suggests something is blocking CodeMirror. Can you please provide me with the screenshot of what you see when you try clicking the SiteOrigin CSS buttons when the only plugin active is SiteOrigin CSS and a default theme (such as Twenty Twenty) and no child theme is active?

Have you added the new screenshot to the linked page? I ask as the screenshot appears to be roughly the same. There’s a bunch of lines present that aren’t present in WordPress without a plugin or custom theme. Specifically, these lines:

To confirm, are you using a default WordPress theme and only SiteOrigin CSS? It’s important that no other plugins and a default theme is used for this test to establish a baseline and rule out any other plugin or your theme as related to the issue you’re facing.

If you are, are you able to replicate this issue while using a different browser? If so, can you please provide me with a screenshot of the other browsers console after clicking the SiteOrigin CSS expand/visual button?

Please, could you try one more time to temporarily switch to a default theme like Twenty Nineteen and temporarily deactivate all plugins except for SiteOrigin CSS. In that state, please, take a screenshot of the following pages and upload those screenshots to Imgur.com or your websie:

• Plugins
• Appearance > Custom CSS

You can be sure that The active theme is Twenty Nineteen and all plugins exept Siteorigin CSS are deactivated.
