• I created a site using the Edin theme in wordpress.com and want to move it to www.ads-software.com but I can not get the css file to export. I have downloaded it in www.ads-software.com but need it to come as part of the export from wordpress.com to be able to import effectively into www.ads-software.com.

Hi Kerrie, it’s not possible to export CSS from WordPress.com, but if you explain in more detail what you’re trying to do I can try to help.

For example, did you make Custom Design CSS tweaks over on WordPress.com that you want to carry over to your self-hosted site? If so, I’d suggest that you install the Jetpack plugin and activate the Custom CSS module. You’ll then add your custom CSS in the new stylesheet editor that’ll appear in your dashboard, under Appearance > Edit CSS. You can paste in the custom CSS form your WordPress.com.

Hi Kathryn The problem was not being able to bring the CSS file across but have since basically rebuilt it using the same theme in www.ads-software.com.
One thing that has happened is the pages that I bought across from WordPress.com don’t have the comments form at the bottom but any that I have created in www.ads-software.com do and I can not get rid of it. On my pages I do not want the comments form, only on posts. Is there a way of getting rid it off a page?

You can turn off comments on pages by un-checking these options below each page in the dashboard:

Edit Page Coraline 1 5 by Automattic WordPress

If you don’t see the box below the page editor, click the Screen Options tab and make sure the Discussion module is checked:

Edit Page Coraline 1 5 by Automattic WordPress 1
