I’ve been tinkering with this all morning – having the site name & description on top of the header graphic (2010 child theme).

    https://www.rastaging6.com/

I put the site title & the site descriptions in one div (which I’ll call “float”) so I only had one thing to worry about as far as placement/moving around.

I then tried inserting this ‘float’ div in various places; right now it is right after the branding/banner div. Which is fine but as it ‘floats’ down on top of the header graphic, it leaves a big gap at the top of the screen.

At first I tried inserting the code for the ‘floating’ div below the ‘access’ div (the last thing before the closing ‘header’ div – and of course I had it all nice and tight at the top of the screen but then the gap was between the ‘access’ menu and the bottom of the header graphic.

I’m going to keep picking at it, was just curious how other’s would do it (I could cheat and just put this wording on the graphic but – nah, I want the text there).

I am going to try to force the height on one of the divs in that header area. But then I wondered if I was going about this the wrong way. Maybe instead of forcing the ‘floating’ div (with the site title & site descript divs in it) DOWN, I ought to be forcing other things UP?

Hmmmm – how many ways to skin a cat? ??

    Danke!
