    Hi,

    I’m really satisfied with the (lite version of) MailOptin plugin in general. But for 2 days now I’m trying to make a little customization and I still can’t find a way to resolve my issue.

    What I’m trying to do is to choose on which pages/posts my in-post optin form is displayed. I know this is a Standard plan feature, but I’m trying to do it with css (display:none).

    I tried different variations of this code:

    .page #ZJxUAemSIs
    { display:none }

    .single #QICfWLNZwD
    { display:none }

    So, I have 2 different in-posts and I want 1) to display the 1st only on blog posts and 2) to display the 2nd only on pages. Essentially, I’m trying to target a single form and choose where to display it.

    The problem is that I can’t do that.
    One of the results I got is that both in-post forms are only displayed on blog posts and neither on pages.

    Also, the strange thing is that while I preview the changes in WordPress Customizer evrything seems perfect, but when I publish the changes and load my website, the mentioned above result (previous paragraph) is presented. I really don’t get this!

    So, my question is “Is it possible to target specific forms with css without issues?”.

    Thanks ??

    PS. Suggestion to plugin’s author:
    I believe that the lack of the ability to target on which pages forms are displayed (in the Lite version of the plugin) is not so practical. (Maybe that’s the point – I don’t know.)

    I mean, if I want to use 1 of the 3 available in-post “campaigns” (forms), I would have no other choice than to have it displayed on all of my website’s posts/pages! This is completely not practical. I can’t think of any real world circumstance in which that would make sense.

    So, maybe you should consider the possibility to have the targeting rules feature available in the Lite version. Just a thought.

    Thank you anyway, for an otherwise plugin-with-potential. ??

    The issue could be a cache issue. Consider clearing mailoptin cache in Settings. Also clear your browser and website cache.

    Also, in your CSS, try adding !important

    .page #ZJxUAemSIs
    { display:none !important }

    .single #QICfWLNZwD
    { display:none !important }

    The lite version is $69 and there is a 10% discount for those upgrading from lite to premium.

    If you do not want the limitation of the lite, consider upgrading. We need to make a living you know. Making everything free won’t make that possible.

    Wishing you a Happy New Year.

    Hi Collins,

    I cleared all kinds of cache, except maybe from the “clear MailOptin cache in settings” one. I didn’t find that option – where is it?

    I also tried the last CSS code suggested. But I still have the same problem: both forms appear in blog posts and none appear in pages. It’s a strange issue. Do you have another suggestion or maybe should I be more specific about the issue?

    As for my suggestion to you (about the limits of the Lite), I still believe you should consider it. I’m doing nothing more than just giving you feedback here (a well-meaning one).

    It comes down to what kind of expierience you want for your Lite users. If it’s just to get a taste of your plugin (like a demo), then it makes sense. But if you want the Lite version to be actually usable, you should consider to include targeting options.

    It’s a tough market you’re in. Other plugins have that option (and much more). I tried yours because I wanted a faster page load. It’s a good plugin (well done for your work!) and I’m just giving you feedback. You should evaluate if the lack of this feature hurts your plugin’s growth more than it helps. Especially if your Lite version is the plugin’s main lead generation. Standard version has more than enough others features to support its price tag (unlimited campaigns and triggers alone!). You just need to keep those first-time free users.

    Anyway, thanks for replying. I wish you the best ??

    Hi stilians, thanks for this great feedback. I’ll discuss with the team and let u know how it goes. If you will love a 20% discount on the standard plan for a site license, shoot me an email via support at mailoptin dot io.

    Your feedback is indeed invaluable.

    Yeah, let me know.
    This thread is not resolved yet, haha.

    Unfortunately, this feauture is not worth to me that much to upgrade just for that. But you can still keep me as a lead, right? ??

    So if I get you, the optin form shows in post but not in pages right? send me an admin login to your site to support at mailoptin dot io and I’ll be sure to look at it for you.

    So, for anyone interested, MailOptin’s plugin author, Collins, helped me solve my issue via email.

    You can use the following css to target and hide your desired forms. You only need the forms’ ID.

    .page #ZJxUAemSIs
    { display:none !important }

    .single #QICfWLNZwD
    { display:none !important }

    This hides the first form from all pages and the second from all posts. You can customize it to your needs.

    Important: If you are using a caching plugin, clear the cache. I cleared all cache.

    Also, make sure you use a reliable custom css plugin. I used my theme’s built-in plugin. Maybe that solved the problem in my case.

    Collins was helpful and the issue is now resolved.

    It’s OK to ask the user to file a ticket on your support site and, once there, the discussion is between the two of you. However, it is not OK to mention here that they should enter or send their email address or site credentials. It’s a fine line, but one that we need to enforce. Thanks for your cooperation.

    Now for the why: The internet is a wonderful place full of very nice people and a few very bad ones. I’m sure everyone here is very nice however, by giving some ones keys to your house you are trusting they wont steal anything. Likewise the person who takes the keys is now responsible for the house FOREVER.

    Happy to let you know @stilians that page-level targeting that you wish it had is now available in the free version.

    You can now do away with the CSS hack ??
