    Did you recognize that you have defined the background color in your style.css twice (see line 171 and 183) ?

    Thanks, I fixed that.
    Not sure this is correct, but to override the plugin style sheet, I changed the file title by adding _ at front of title. The plugin’s style sheet kept loading last and overriding my child theme style sheet.

    You can try to avoid overwriting if you add !important to the styles in your child theme. But I think I will add an option to disable the event-list.css file to give the possibility to define all styles in a child theme.
