• Hi to everybody,

3 hours ago I downloaded WordPress for the first time and I m stunned how easy and self-explanatory everything is. Setting up the page was easy, so was the rest like setting up categories or posting the first blog. However, since I m not really a fan of pre-made themes and templates, I tried to make up my own, which kinda caused a few problems. I really do appreciate everything the people from WordPress achieved with the programm and i think this community here is an awesome place to get to communicate with others. However, if you are a newbie and you are coming more from the designer and not the coder side, setting up your first theme can be a pain in the ass.

After a while I kinda made my way through the index.php, header.php and footer.php. When I tried to customize the style.css tho, it was like knocking on wood. First, I gotta say there are way too many classes and ids and you can easily lose your overview. Second it kinda makes it hard for a beginner to find ones way when everything is tossed around in the file itself.

To make it short, is there any tutorial out there on the net of how to make up your theme step-by-step with regard to the style.css and the rest?
