• So I got auto updated to the latest version of wordpress. Firstly, I hate the new implementation of edit CSS. They should give the option to make it with customizer or have it the way it was.

Anyway, a lot of my css is screwed up now. I always posted my CSS in the “edit CSS” part under appearance. Now when I click on that it takes me to the customizer and all my old css is no where to be found. The website itself is displaying some of my old CSS — seems like an old copy of it or something which I will refer to as “old” css. Luckly I have a backup of my “new” css – but when I paste it into the the new custom css spot in the customizer it doesn’t work correctly. This is because the “old” css is loaded after it so any changes are replaced with the old version, such as background color. I could plaster my new css with !important tags, but this is against all that is holy.

My question is — where is this old css located? It would be simply enough to go there and delete so I can work with the new style now.

The website I am working with (no content yet) is scientized.com

    And an example is here:

I even deleted JetPack to see if that helps. But no.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.
