CSS issues over VPN

  • HI All ,

    I have a strange issue. Users on my domain on the same LAN can access my wordpress site perfectly.

    I have some remote users that are not on the domain however they join the head office using a windows vpn . When they access the wordpress site the site loads without the formatting ( like the CSS is not being applied)

    Kindly assist.

  • I’m afraid this is not a WordPress issue. You’ll need to resolve this with the help of your network administrator/IT team.

    I’d like to report that I’m having this issue as well. While I recognize it’s not a WordPress issue – everyone who accesses my website outside the VPN can see it just fine – does anyone have a recommended path for resolution that we can suggest to our network administrator? I’m thinking they just need to whitelist our server’s IP address – thoughts?

    Hi again! I think I’ve resolved this issue. I’m no developer so if someone can explain why this works, that’d be great!

    The solution for me was to purchase a SSL certificate through my web host (I use InMotionHosting, took about 2 hours to purchase and deploy). Once I did that, the styling showed up just fine to my VPN clients.

    Their network admin could have made changes to their network in that time, but from my perspective, that’s the only thing that changed.
