• Hi,

I have the latest version of WordPress and Nextgen Gallery, and for any reason the Nextgen CSS does not load. It used to work in previous versions of Nextgen, but now my gallery display is just absolutely awful.

I have tried to play with the Nextgen CSS options in the admin page, nothing has changed. I also modified the default theme under /ngg_styles/nggallery.css, didn’t change anything either.

It seems like the CSS file (nggallery.css?!) is not added to the header.
I know that it is working differently in v2.0, but I could not find anywhere the information: how is the Nextgen CSS loaded into the theme? Is that automatic? What is the name of the CSS file (considering I want to use the basic standard templates)? I’ve seen a few people on the Internet saying: “you need to add wp_head() to your header”, for me it has always been there and Nextgen used to work, but since the upgrade it’s not working anymore.

    Thanks for your help!

    Regards

@tchekouze – Have you checked for conflicts with other active plugins?

    Hi Cais,

Thanks for your reply. Yes I’ve just tried to disable all the other plugins that I had without success. I forgot to mention that I have a WordPress multisite. This was working before (a few months ago I would say), but not anymore.

@tchekouze – Something is interfering with the JavaScript and CSS NextGEN Gallery uses to display images … have you tried temporarily switching to a default WordPress Twenty series theme? I see the theme on the page (from the link above) is calling its own Lightbox which may be the conflict.

    Hi,

I’ve just tried to enable twenty twelve and twenty fifteen, I can’t add a capture here but it’s the exact same result with the two themes: the css is not included and the galleries have a horrible look.

    Thanks

@tchekouze – If there is no plugin conflict and no theme conflict, have you ensured any caching has been cleared?

Another option is the possibility of a corrupted installation of NextGEN Gallery, have you tried re-installing manually via FTP and over-writing all of the current files and folders under /plugins/nextgen-gallery/?

    Thanks!

    – Cais.
