I have just installed CSDES and tried it out. I have I think a properly configured .CSV file and have uploaded it. A new tab opens in Forms for the upload, but it shows a single blank field with no title. A search produces nothing of consequence. I have placed the letters sds in front of the first word in the first column in the header row as instructed. Any thoughts where I am going wrong? Is the plugin compatible with WordPress 4.4.1?

I tried duplicating the example file you show in the “Upload CSV File” page instructions – no luck at all. I have WP Import and WP Import for Woo Commerce installed. I disabled them to see if there might be a conflict, but still no luck.

    Hello,

I think you have emailed me about this problem as well. I post my response here so it might help the others who have the same issue.

Please make sure you have the latest version of plugin.

If the plugin upgrade didn’t work then you can try the below solution:

    1. Open the Plugins page on your admin dashboard and find the plugin “Custom Searchable Data Entry System”
    2. Click “Edit”
    3. Make sure you’re viewing the file custom-searchable-data-entry-system/sds-main.php (active)
    4. find the line where it says: $csv_column_names_loc = $movefile[‘file‘];
Change ‘file‘ to ‘url‘ (I’ve indicated its location in bold in step 4).
You might need to re-activate the plugin after this change.
That’s it. I hope it helps:)

If you still have any questions or concerns, you are always welcome to contact me anytime.

    Cheers,

    Ghazale

Thank you. I have the most recent version, downloaded 2-3 days ago. I have WordPress 4.4.1 running the Virtue theme with basically nothing but Woocommerce and a couple of plugins . I managed to make the suggested change , but again, no luck.

I duplicated your example file, it says it uploads fine.
I go to “Forms” It reflects that a file has been loaded, but there are no fields reflected and a search produces null results. None of the column headers are reflected.

    Hi @djt1423

Would you please email me a screenshot of what you see? I can better help you that way.
If the change that I’ve posted you before didn’t work, then please disregard that change and bring it back to its original state. Then upload your file and send me the screenshots.

I need your csv sample file that you try to upload, a screenshot of the uploaded “Form” and a screenshot of the uploaded “Entries”. I need them to see what it shows.

You can find my email at the very bottom of the plugin’s “Welcome” page in a gray box.

Ghazale, Thank you for all of your assistance. Your plugin does exactly what I was hoping for. Unfortunately, something in our setup must conflict. I’ll keep testing from time to time. David
