    Hello,
I have an online store with woocommerce.
I have a catalog of about a hundred products.
I have several problems in the last few days.
Here’s the conexte: I had to change supplier, so my internal SKUs will evolve, the pictures of my products will change, the attributes too (I created the new ones for the mapping). I’d like to do a mass import with a CSV file.
For that, I made an export of my catalog in order to have the right column headers, then I changed the infos of my products.
    – I wanted to do a test on a variable product (I only have variable products) before launching on the whole catalog. But when importing, which can be done with ID or SKU, I have the impression that the SKU has priority over the ID, and my import fails.
    – I tested by removing the SKU column, the import removes all my variations.

My question is: how can I make a clean import that takes all my data from the CSV, including the modified SKU, and using the product ID and not the SKU as a reference?
And if possible, do an update import, AND the simultaneous creation of new variations on some products.

    Hi there,

First, I would suggest setting up a staging site on which to test-run this, as it often takes several tries to get right within a particular setup, and it’s best to do it away from your live site while you get the hang of it.

It’s important to properly link your parent VARIABLE-type product to its child VARIATION-type sub-products. Have a look at this forum post from before that deals with a similar situation:
