• I have 915 products in a csv file and only about 883 are loading…AND there’s no explanation as to why the others are not loading. At the very least if any product is skipped there should be a notification of why it was skipped.

    Hi @graftedin,

If you’re using the default product import functionality of WooCommerce found at WP Admin > Products when an import is completed an import log is available.

    Image Link: https://cloudup.com/cptYzvbf8KE

That will contain information for any skipped products.

There isn’t an import log….there isn’t away for me to upload a screen shot. It only shows the log when it reports to you that products have been skipped. If it just skips them and doesn’t report…then you don’t get a log.

I have 915 products in a csv file and only about 883 are loading… And its not reporting that x have been skipped.

    Hey @graftedin,

As a test look in the CSV file for one of the products which has not imported. Then extract that product to a CSV file which contains only that product.

Next, try importing that CSV as a test and grab a screenshot of the end of the import process if it fails to import.

You can upload the screenshot to a service like https://snipboard.io/ and then share a link to the image in a forum reply.

If the product does not import I’m happy to test the import for the product too if you can share the CSV file with the single product within it. You could share that using s service like https://www.google.co.uk/sheets/about/ or similar.

These are 914 NEW products so I can’t export them to see the original file. 883 are loading. 31 are being skipped and not being reported as skipped. This shouldn’t be hard…..if it sees a csv with 914 rows and 883 import then something is wrong and should be reported.

The first few attempts tried to load all 914 skipped a bunch because of duplicate SKUs which was not the case. The only thing I can figure is something from that original upload is cached outside the database. Each time I retry my upload I refresh my database with the original.

My csv will not work for you because the categories are too extensive and go way over the csv cell limit so I had to make a hack to get around that. And I know what you are thinking…..products were not being uploaded before the hack.

Now I’m even more convinced that there is something “cached” that is preventing the logs from being displayed. I just uploaded to the live site for the first time….I had been using a dev site to make sure there weren’t any bugs with the upload.

This time it tells me 39 where skipped because of duplicate SKUs. However a search for the SKUs shows them as loaded….with in the time frame I did the upload. They are only once in the csv. I think the upload tool needs to stop checking for SKUs or at least give me the option of what to do if it hits a duplicate SKU. For my instance I’d rather it just upload and if it was really a duplicate its easier to delete rather than go through and check each one to see if it loaded….which is what I now need to do because the logs are not reliable.

The bottom line is this upload tool is buggy and really needs some work. The times when I need to use it are when I have a large quantity of products and its in those instances I really need it to be reliable.

Now I distilled my list down to the remaining products (27). I uploaded them and its telling me that 69 didn’t import. 69 out of 27? How does that happen?

And then run with just the 1 left over product it uploads.
