The current GDPR does not allow cookies to be loaded until the user accepts them. They load me a few Clean Talk cookies and I would need to be able to block them until the user accepts them. I use the GDPR Cookie Compliance plugin that allows you to load cookie scripts only when the user accepts them. Is there any way to block Cleantalk cookies? Thanks in advance.

    Hello, @gbasterra.

    Please, do the following:
    ? WordPress Admin Page —> Settings —> Anti-Spam by CleanTalk —> Advanced settings —>
? set the option “Set cookies” to “Off
? set the option “Use alternative mechanism for cookies” to “On
    ? Save Changes.

    Did it help?

    Hello Serge,

Yes, I have set up “Set cookies” to “Off” but I can′t set up “Use alternative mechanism for cookies” to “On”, it is disabled and I can not check it ?? Thank you very much!

Oh, I’m sorry, set both options to “On“.

Alternative mechanism will change the standard behavior of the cookie-files.

Do you use any cache plugins?

If yes then refresh the cache of your website. The cookies should be deleted.

Disabling-enabling the CleanTalk plugin should help as well.

    Hello Serge,

No, I don′t use a cache plugin right now… I have disable-enable the CleanTalk plugin but I still see these 8 cookies. If I disable the plugin, it′s ok, no cookies are shown.

    Thank you.

According to Article 30 of GDPR (https://gdpr.eu/article-30-records-of-processing-activities/), the user’s consent to use of cookies on the site is required only if the cookies allow to identify a person. CleanTalk cookies contain no personal data, only technical information for the plugin correct work.

More details about CleanTalk cookies can be found here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/cookies-and-the-plugin-version-5-82/

Also, the site owner should inform the visitor how cookies are used, how they are processed and to whom information contained in cookies can be transferred. The site owner also needs to give the visitor the opportunity to refuse the use of specific cookies.

All of the terms above should be described in the privacy policies of the site. A link to these policies should be provided in a pop-up notification window.

    For example:
    ==
    Exemptions to the consent requirement
Some cookies are exempt from the consent requirement and therefore are not subject to preventive blocking (though you’re still required to inform users about your use of cookies – see caution box below). The exemptions are as follows:

Technical cookies are strictly necessary for the provision of the service. These include preference cookies, session cookies, load balancing, etc.
Statistical cookies managed directly by you (not third-parties), providing that the data is not used for profiling*
Anonymized statistical third-party cookies (e.g. Google Analytics)*

    Dear Alexander,

Thank you for your kind reply. I send you a link: https://gdpr.eu/cookies/

Here clearly says that “to comply with the regulations governing cookies under the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive you must:

Receive users’ consent before you use any cookies except strictly necessary cookies.”

Google Analytics, for example, con not be considered as strictly necessary cookies and therefor are blocked in order the user can accepts them or not.

Analyzing the CT cookies, only two appear as necessary: ct_timezone and ct_pointer_data. The rest, ct_checkjs, ct_ps_timestamp, ct_fkp_timestamp, apbct_visible_fields, apbct_visible_fields_count, abpct_hyro_acc_collect appear in the “Other cookies” category.

According to the European legislation on the GDPR and EPrivacy Directive, only the first two could be installed without the consent of the user but the others should be blocked until the user decides if he wants or not to accept them…

    Hello.

    1. Disabling the cookies results in greatly weakening of the anti-spam protection. Therefore the cookie files are needed for the website functioning.

    2. The link you gave us:
    https://gdpr.eu/cookies/

    It has the following text:
    Cookie compliance
To comply with the regulations governing cookies under the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive you must:
? Receive users’ consent before you use any cookies except strictly necessary cookies.
? Provide accurate and specific information about the data each cookie tracks and its purpose in plain language before consent is received.
? Document and store consent received from users.
? Allow users to access your service even if they refuse to allow the use of certain cookies
? Make it as easy for users to withdraw their consent as it was for them to give their consent in the first place.

All CleanTalk cookies are strictly necessary cookies as they directly affect your website security and your guests/visitors/registered users.

    Thank you.

    Dear Serge,

The explanation that CT cookies are strictly necessary is satisfactory but in that case it would be desirable that the 8 CT cookies appear as necessary since only two of them appear as necessary in the test (www.cookieserve.com). Could you label all cookies as necessary in any update of the plugin? Thank you very much.

You can test the cookies of my client (faesfarma.com) here:

    Thank you, @gbasterra.
