Curl 7.34 Requirement for connection

    Hi,

    I am trying to connect to Dynamics Online through the plugin with no result.
    I am trying on two different (shared package) hosting companies. One doesn’t support curl 7.34 either TLS 1.2. The other doesn’t support just the curl 7.34 version on all their packages cause as they pointed the vulnerabilities of the version. They say also that in terms of functionality 7.29 for example is the same with 7.34.

    Is version 7.34 of curl required (enforced) by Dynamics 365 like TLS 1.2 is? Couldn’t the plugin accept also earlier versions?

    Dynamics 365 does not know anything and does not care about curl but it does enforce TLS 1.2. Enforcement is not across all of the Dynamics servers but it’s spreading and we’ve been fielding a lot of customers support requests because of that. Hence the decision to start enforcing TLS 1.2 for online.

    According to https://curl.haxx.se/docs/manpage.html#–tlsv12, curl understands enforcement of TLS 1.2 starting from 7.34 onwards. Please note that this version was released 4.5(!!) years ago, the current version is 7.61. Pointing out vulnerabilities in a version that old is strange for the hosting company at best – why wouldn’t they upgrade to the latest?
