An error occurred while checking whether your site can be found by search engines
Ryte offers a free indexability check for Yoast SEO users. The request to Ryte to check whether your site can be found by search engines failed due to an error.
Error details: cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 5001 milliseconds with 0 out of -1 bytes received (http_request_failed)

Reached out to host (Bluehost) to request cURL test. Received the following response:
I did check into the wp-admin to recreate the issue and I was able to see the error message in the site health check option. Normally this will be caused because of the outdated plugins or any of the plugin that is not compatible to run with the latest version of the WordPress. Firstly, I have increased the PHP version and values to the highest which we can and also defined the PHP sessions in the config file.

I would suggest you to please check on all your plugins and update it to the latest version and in case if you are not using any plugin, delete it from the website. If you are still experiencing the issues after taking care of your plugin please try it once by disabling all the plugin and try enabling one by one so that you can clarify which is the exact plugin that is causing the issue.

I am running the latest version of the plugin.

Good morning. Checking to see if there is as of yet a solution for this?

The Ryte check sends a request from your site to the Ryte service. This could mean there’s an issue outside of your control, like a server issue between your site and Ryte or Ryte’s server itself.

We’ve seen this a few times and usually it self resolves when the communication path is open and accessible.

This reply from one of my colleagues explains the issue in more detail.

Having said that, this is an error that does not influence your site rank in any way. If the error would say that your website can’t be found by search engines, that would be reason to investigate. You can read more in this article ( https://yoast.com/yoast-seo-ryte/ ) and there are even a few links to run this test manually.

My issue, honestly, was less out of concern of it effecting my page rank and more out of continuing to see it as an issue in my site health. That said, I’ll accept that it ultimately isn’t effecting anything and attempt to ignore it when it pops up. ?? Thank you for the response.
