Our website bristolpay.org.uk had been hacked. After installing WordFence plugin i am getting the wp_remote_post test back to this server failed – CURL error 28

    How can we fix this?

Have already tried changing setting in the tools pannel.

Hello @missilic and thanks for reaching out to us!

Usually, the cURL 28 error is signaling that your site is not able to connect back to itself.

Can you send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

    Thanks!

    Thanks for sending that @missilic

I see a few issues that might be occurring with your site.

First for the issue at hand, the cURL 28 error is common and usually temporary but if it is persistent then you need your hosting provider to investigate the issue with regards to the cURL library installed on the server. They also need to make sure that they are not blocking outgoing connections to our server IP address range 69.46.36.0 to 69.46.36.32.

You may be able to start scans remotely. Navigate to Tools > Diagnostics > Debugging > Start All Scans Remotely and enable that. Return to your scan page and CANCEL the current scan and then start a NEW scan.

I also see most of your cron jobs haven’t run since December 9th which will also cause issues. I would also have your host see why these aren’t running.

Let me know what you find!

    Thanks!
