cURL error 28: Connection timed out

    Hello, i’m upgrading to WordPress 5.2 and now WP-Optimize is having a problem with Image smush: “cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10001 milliseconds
    There was an error connecting to the image compression server. This could mean either the server is temporarily unavailable or there are connectivity issues with your internet connection. Please try later.”

    Any possible way to solve this issue? I’m on a shared hosting (not VPS).

  • @foxdie Sorry for the delay!

    The error indicates that the network that WPOptimize is attempting to connect to is unreachable. This shows that the connection isn’t being blocked, but is failing to reach the WPOptimize API server.

    Can you try to check with your host please, If they are blocking the request to connect to WPOptimize server.

    @bornforphp @foxdie N.B. There’s isn’t a WP-Optimize server. The image compression service in WP-Optimize is using Smush.It or NitroSmush according to the user’s settings (default Smush.It). So, it’s one of those two that the user’s server is having trouble contacting.
