Since last update I receive on different WordPress installations (all running wordfence) the following error:

cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10000 milliseconds (http_request_failed)

I already talked to my hoster but neither firewall nor security modules (e.g. mod_security) block the outgoing cURL requests. There have been noch changes on hoster site.

When Wordfence is deactivated everything is running fine (on both sites), so it seems to be related to the plugin and the last update.

Hopefully somebody can tell what what causes this error or solve it by an update.

    Regards

    Hi @elcompe

Wordfence is not the cause of that error. It is being generated due to a problem with the cURL library on your hosting server. The cURL error 28 error is a common error and usually temporary. If the error is persistent then your hosting provider will need to resolve the issue on the hosting server causing the error.

    Thanks wfphil,

that’s also what I thought. But the error is gone (on both sites), when Wordfence is deactivated and the hoster also told me that were no changes made in cURL library recently.

Since the error first appeared after the latest Wordfence update, I assume that this might be the cause.
