Hi Nicola,

A cURL 28 error indicates a Connection timed-out error is occurring on your WordPress installation. This is not something that is directly related to WooCommerce core, although WooCommerce will use cURL for some API calls.

There are some resources within this Google Search below which should hopefully help you get a cURL 28 error on a WordPress site resolved:

I’d also suggest purging any caching mechanisms you may have running on the site/server, as well as some slight server changes, as seen below:

• PHP Post Max Size: 40 MB: Can you bump it up to?128 MB
• PHP Time Limit: 120: Can you bump it up to 300 MB
• Max Upload Size: 40 MB: Can you bump it up to 128 MB

Your host should also be able to help you out with the above value changes.
