I’ve recently had reports from some users saying they’re getting a

cURL error 60: SSL certificate problem: certificate has expired

error when connecting to GMB, refreshing the location list, or when creating GMB posts.

Don’t worry, there is nothing wrong with the SSL certificate on your website! The plugin thinks our SSL certificate has expired.

The problem is caused by a recent update at “LetsEncrypt” which provides the SSL certificate for the Post to Google My Business plugin.

While I can’t currently offer a guaranteed fix for the problem, make sure you’re running a compatible version of WordPress (5.3+), PHP (5.6.26+) and OpenSSL (1.1.0+). Then try reconnecting to Google My Business (Post to GMB > Settings > Google Settings).

I’ve released a minor update (v2.2.48) to the plugin to work around the problem. If you’re experiencing this problem, please update the plugin and see if that fixes it.

Having same issue even after update. Any updates on this issue?

    Hi @simplysellingstuff,

Where exactly are you seeing the error? The update will not retroactively fix anything where the error occured. You may have to refresh the locations list or reconnect to Google to fix it. On failed posts, editing them and pressing Update should make them go live.

Ok I see now. I refreshed locations and they came back. I’ve got dozens maybe hundreds of posts previously scheduled. Do you anticipate those scheduled posts will be ok?

If their publishing date is still in the future they should be published just fine!

We have updated the plugin and did all of the above updates but our locations are still not letting us connect back to our google account.

    Hi @kcpaint,

Apologies for the late reply, I must’ve overlooked the notification!

If you can send the debug info from the debug page (Post to GMB > Settings > Debug) to [email protected] I will have a look.
