• Hello,

I get this error under point 2:

We noticed that your site returns a cURL error (?Error: 1 ?). This means that it cannot send a notification to SpecificFeeds.com when a new post is published. Therefore this email-feature doesn’t work. However there are several solutions for this, please visit our FAQ to see the solutions (?Perceived bugs? => ?cURL error messages?): https://www.ultimatelysocial.com/faq

There is no FAQ at the above link as it forwards here.
I read the only related post that I found:
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/curl-email-error-specific-feeds/

but I still don’t understand what I’m supposed to do.
Is there something I can enable in cPanel or at PHP options?

The instructions at the bottom of that page
    https://www.specificfeeds.com/rss
    are very confusing.

    Possible to elaborate please?

    Thanks.

I checked with my host and they confirmed that CURL is installed and enabled on the server but still doesn’t work.

Does the plugin need access to xmlrpc.php script?

There’s no need for access to xmlrpc.php script.

    Please follow the next steps:

    1. Open https://www.specificfeeds.com/rss
    2. Enter your website’s url and click on “Tell me how I can get more readers!”
    3. You will be directed to a page which explains you the advantages of using SpecificFeeds. At the bottom, click on “icon” here https://www.screencast.com/t/WE0iPIi8VQ then on “Subscription icon(s)” here https://www.screencast.com/t/fx9cTBAD
    4. On the next screen (https://www.screencast.com/t/vfM7r8r3cRq), right-click on the email/follow icon you want to use and click on “Save”
    5. Copy the action url from the same screen, see https://www.screencast.com/t/4CdSdR9C11Uk
    6. Upload the previously saved icon under question number 1 in the plugin’s settings as custom icon
    7. Give it the url saved at step no. 5 under question number 2 in the plugin’s settings

Does it work when you follow the above steps?

Thanks but I’m not able to accomplish all those points because:

a/ you don’t specify which icon size to download under step 4 – how do we know which sizes are used by the other icons? I used the 25px for testing.

b/ cannot find any place where to paste the URL we get under step 5 – you suggest question #2 of settings but there is nothing related to this custom icon in there. The other one was removed and there is no error related to cURL anymore but there is no related entry for this custom icon under question #2

c/ the notification screen about the error cURL still shows up under question #5 of the plugin’s settings

    @dsl225

    a. Download any icon from https://www.screencast.com/t/vfM7r8r3cRq- size doesn’t matter here.

    b. The field where the url needs to be entered under question number 2 will appear after you upload the custom icon under question number 1 and click “Save”.

    c. We are following a different route (custom icon and direct link solution) so the cURL error can be ignored in this case.

Thanks but the problem is that the point /b/ doesn’t work!
I uploaded and saved in question #1 but nothing shows up under #2
    Please see screenshot here.

    Additionally, I get those warnings:

Warning: imagecreatefrompng(https://ppdesign.website/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/75X75_f5.png): failed to open stream: no suitable wrapper could be found in /wp-content/plugins/ultimate-social-media-icons/libs/controllers/sfsi_iconsUpload_contoller.php on line 324

    Hi @dsl225

Ok. I suggest also trying with this plugin https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/ultimate-social-media-plus

    What is the difference?

It is differently coded, maybe that version works fine with your unique setup.

    (@dsl225)

But it provide the same options?

    (@socialtech)

Actually more options than the old USM plugin.

OK, will give a try in a couple of weeks.
    Thanks for this!
