Hey @margaretwporg & @csnlima

I have now created accounts with both Open exchange rates and API Layer. I wanted to add their API’s into the site to pull in the most accurate currency conversion amounts. I couldn’t see how to do this with either platform, so I asked them for a hand. Open exchange rates told me to ask in a woo commerce or WordPress forum for help as they can only help if there’s an issue with a particular exchange rate and API Layer haven’t responded to me at all.

I know this is a bit off-topic, but would either of you know where I actually place their API keys into the site. They provided a couple of lines of code too and I don’t know where to add those or if I need to add them anywhere at all?

I have created a live staging environment of this site to have a play around. If it helps, here is the URL

I’ve been having a read of it all and see that it’s suggestion that it needs to be placed within the REST API but doing that just creates an API key. I already have an API key that I wanted to connect and add to WordPress.

I’m still trying to work out where to add that.

Hi Kate,

I understand you have been provided with API keys but there is no way to add those keys in WooCommerce or WordPress without a plugin.

You’ll need an in-house application for your API sources if Open Exchange Rates and API Layer have one or you can use a plugin (if available) or need to build your own custom API integration. In the latter case, I’d recommend contacting one of our WooExperts for help with coding here: https://woocommerce.com/customizations/.
