• I am using CURCY – WooCommerce Multi Currency Premium to switch between USD and CAD. The default currency is CAD so a conversion takes place whenever someone used USD to buy a gift card. I can’t make sense of the math. Either I’m missing something or the conversions are very wrong.

    • The gift card cost $100 USD, which is recorded as $185 CAD (instead of $136)
    • The gift card was shown a few days later to be $61 USD in the cart, which your plugin recorded as $102 CAD
    • The balance was $0 USD in the checkout but your plugin said there was $83 CAD remaining
    • I tried it again a few days later and it said that I had $135 to redeem when I was on the checkout page. I was expecting the value to be USD because I had entered an address in the USA. ($135 CAD would have been made sense but your plugin still said the value should be $186 CAD)
    • Another gift card of $50 USD is recorded as $93 CAD, using the same very wrong exchange rate of 1.851

I would much prefer if the value was not converted to CAD and then back again to USD when someone tries to use it. Please help me figure this out.

We don’t currently have integration with the CURCY currency switcher plugin. However we are adding this to our feature list and it should be available in the future.

In the meantime, you can see the list of currency switcher plugins that are compatible with the PW Gift Cards here:

I haven’t had these exact problems, but I have noticed something different with CURCY. When checking out in another currency AND using the “Discount Rules for Woocommerce” plugin by FlyCart AND using PW Gift Cards – the total is not recalculated properly.

Pick two out of those three, and everything generally plays nice. But try and use all three and the checkout amount cannot be trusted. I realize that this potentially be an issue with any or all of the plugins working together, but I welcome the future PW Gift Cards / CURCY support in the hopes that it will resolve this issue as well. Once that is incorporated, I would be happy to work with support to troubleshoot the issue if it remains.

You have it listed as one of your supported integrations. It is the one by VillaTheme (https://villatheme.com/extensions/woo-multi-currency/)
