Cursor jumps back to text when writing keywords

  • Hello everyone,

    this doesn′t happen all the time, but too often and it′s very annoying.

    When i type into the keyword bar, it often jumps back to the text and i have to click into the keyword bar again. Sometimes i′m able to add one more letter before it jumps back, sometimes it stops and i can write normally, but in most cases (if not all) i have to at least add one more letter. Only happens there, for weeks now and i don′t know why.

    I have a lot of keywords and some of them are with a – if that makes any difference, since it seems to happen more often with words like third-person, but not exclusively.

  • Hi, @kenshigo ! Gosh, that does sound annoying. ?? When you say keywords, do you mean tags?

    Does this happen no matter what browser you’re using? It might be worth testing in a private/incognito window, to eliminate the possibility of interference from a browser extension.

    It’s also possible a WordPress plugin or theme is causing an issue. In that case, I recommend the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. It will let you test the post editor with all plugins disabled in your browser only —?the site will continue to perform as expected for visitors.

    @kgagne ah yes, it is tags, translated it′s keywords -.-

    I`ll give it both a try, thanks for your ideas. Could take a while though since it only happens most of the time, not always, you know the deal xD

    @kgagne using incognito seems to help. Didn′t have many chances to test it, but worked so far. Going to try it some more, thanks mate.

    Glad it helped! If incognito works, then it may be a particular browser extension you have installed. It might be worth toggling individual ones off and seeing when the problem goes away.

    @kgagne sadly have to correcot myself, seems like i was just lucky. Happens with all browsers, also in incognito mode. So it has to be the theme or a plugin causing it -.-
