• Now that I’ve actually started using the ‘post’ screen, I’ve noticed something really pretty annoying. Every time I close a tag (not using the ‘close tags’ button), it sends the cursor back to the top of the post. I suppose it’s a minor thing, but when you’re posting a multi-page document it’s pretty damn aggravating to have to scroll back down (waaaay down) to find the spot where you left off. Is this something that’s been there all along? Better yet, can it be ‘fixed’?

    Hmm..let me try this…..(I’m using Firebird .7)…
    Hey, you’re right! ??
    Thanks, TG.

I have the same problem when using quicktags with Firebird… I usually end up just typing in the html or BBcode to avoid it. And I use w.bloggar for extended posts anyway.

Same problem exists when using FireFox.

It’s not a problem with WP… I have this happen at ALL forums and such places that use quicktag-like functionality. Wanna complain? Try the browser developers. I’ve learned to trust that the cursor doesn’t move, it’s just the way the textarea gets rendered when updating it with text. I’ve gotten to the point where I no longer worry about such things and can type heads down.

BTW this is fixed in CVS.
