How do I get custom avatars to show up in the comments section of my posts?

I’m using a modified version of iNov theme. There is setting to allow for a generic avatar if the user doesn’t have a custom avatar, but there is no option to show the custom avatar.

How do I get the custom avatar to show?

    Thanks in advance.

go to gravatar.com and upload your image – it will then show up on yours or any gravatar enabled blog you comment on
    or use a plugin

I already have an image on gravatar.com, it’s the same one that shows on my posts here.

It’s just not showing up in my blog post’s comments.

I’m thinking there might be a switch in the php somewhere that isn’t interfaced with the dashboard. This just dawned on me actually, so I’ll check that now, and get back.

Edit: Couldn’t find anything there, so I’m back to square one.

Why is it not loading the gravatar image?

Switch to the Twenty Ten theme temporarily and see if your gravatar displays properly.

2010 doesn’t display the custom avatars either.

At Settings/Discussion in your admin panel, do you have “Show Avatars” selected?

    Yes I do.

I also have “Default Avatar” set to “Mystery Man”, which is what’s showing up now, even though I have a custom avatar with gravatar.com.

I just noticed your old topic. Is it possible that you’re using the wrong email there too?

I thought that might have something to do with it when you mentioned it, but unfortunately it didn’t solve the problem.

Is there any change that your gravatar was accidentally rated higher than what your blog is set to allow?

    (@fishdogfish)

Do you mean the “G, PG, R, X” ratings?

My personal gravatar is rated “G”, yet it won’t show no matter what I set the maximum rating to in “Discussions”.

I did an “Advanced Edit” on a post, and changed the email on it to the one I registered at gravatar.com.

Now the avatar shows on the post, but it’s on the opposite side of comment, and it’s out of the view port by about half it’s width.

    Resolved!

I added my admin email addy to gravatar, and now it shows up where it’s supposed to.

The only explanation for the other email addy miss-aligning the avatar is the length of the email address it’s self, as the other email addy is very long.
