Custom Button

Hi, I’ve tried adding a custom button, but everything/all sizes I try just displays as text on the page. What might I be doing wrong, please? It’s for a charity, and I will go pro when it’s set up, but I just want to get the website looking how I want it to look first. Many thanks!
