• Hi community,

I have just finished designing a website for a client using the CC template by themekraft. I have worked intensily on this project for a few weeks now and today finally moved the website onto a live server. The problem I’ve noticed today is that the website isn’t displayed correctly on mobile devices – where the background is supposed to be small icons of question marks (“?”) are shown (like the image/format is not supported) and the website itself is set very much to the left of where it’s supposed to be.
I heard from Themekraft and they said that the particular theme has compatability issues with mobile devices.
After many many hours of labor on this website what could I do to keep the design but have a similar design on the mobile? What would you guys do under these circumstance?

  • That’s a drag! Probably two options – fix the CSS for that theme or find another theme – unfortunately, both are going to involve additional work : (. How bad is the responsiveness on the current site?

One other thing you could try is a plugin like WPtouch – though I don’t know that it works that well with every theme/site.

I’m not sure how to fix it so that it will become mobile friendly.
The whole site is for some moved 80% of the content to the left side of the screen, so only a small percentage of the site is actually visible.
I’m just not sure what to tell my clients, its very embarrasing
WPtouch from what i know alters the website into a phone app type thing..

No way for anyone here to offer any specific advice or help without seeing the site. Depending on the problems, it may be outside the scope of these forums – as extensive CSS work can be involved – from what you say about TK’s response, that may well be the case. Certainly unfortunate. Maybe you should set up a duplicate test site and try another known-to-be-well-coded responsive theme. There are many…

Good news, I was able to add mobile specific css styling adjustments to the website and things are hopefully looking better on mobile devices.
I’ll upload the changes to the website tomorrow and i’ll be happy to hear your comments and recommendations, im currently running the changes i made on a test environment.
