Custom CSS is not working

Hi!
I use the free version of Visual Portfolio and I am not able to make the images on my grid blur with the mouse hover. Can someone help me?

The CSS code I am trying to use is as follows:
.vp-id-26074 .vp-portfolio__items-style-fade {
–vp-items-style-fade – overlay__filter: blur (5px)! important;
}

I would gladly get the Pro version if that would solve it but I cannot find any indication this would be possible with it.
