Custom Date sort

Hi,
File Away is perfect for what we need to display, so thanks for making such a useful plugin.
Here’s my problem: I’m getting requests to have the letters home (on the link provided) ordered by date.
I looked at other support tickets and found out about using asterisk on custom columns etc but am I overlooking something, maybe to do with the format I use for dates, because it doesn’t seem to order properly.
I have seen 2 other FA users had the same problem but it seems to have been fixed for them, so I aren’t sure where I am going wrong.
