• Hi all,

First time poster and newbie with wordpress.

I had my website made by a professional website make and he gave me the login details to the wordpress. I am not sure what I have done with the custom dropdown menu but there is no dropdown menu anymore.

In the Menu strucutre, I have all the pages and sub-items still there but in the website, I am unable to get the dropdown. What is the problem?? Please help. I tried reading the other posts about the same problem but have not found anything that could help me fix this problem.

  • Can you provide a url? Is it possible to contact the person that made your website? I usually offer some type of support afterwards for at least a little bit of time for free and I’m assuming your person should?

Unfortunately no, I can’t get in touch with that person anymore. Long story.

The website url is www. ashburtonfamilydental.com.au

    Thanks for any suggestions.

I have even tried creating a new navigation menu and then tried to use the new navigation menu as the primary navigation but it did not help.

Hmmm… I’m not 100% sure on that now. Just make sure that in the pages area the structure is correct and then check in the appearance > menus and see if you can find it there. Otherwise, since it’s custom work and I don’t think a theme from www.ads-software.com, it could be a challenge unless I looked at your backend.

Thanks Josiah. Who do you think would be the best person to have a look at this for me? I am sure it’s a simple few buttons problem but am not sure what I ticked/unticked to cause this problem.

Oh, and I did upgrade the wordpress version today as well. Do you think that could have affected it??

it shouldn’t caused an issue but it may have. I can take a look if need be.

Thanks for your generosity Josiah. How do I give you my details?

I can take a look if need be.

Please keep support on these forums and not attempt to use them to contact people.

That behavior is really discouraged, please do not do that again.

    My apologies.

I would recommend making sure you have a complete backup available and then I would update all of my plugins and then see if that works. If not, I’d start deactivating plugins and see if that works.
