• Hi

I’m having a similar problem with custom fields.

Every page is made up of modules form custom fields.

In the Ajax Lite, I have for example, _basicmodules under the ‘Available public custom fields types’. So I’ve tried move all to ‘Drag here the custom fields you want to use!’. But still the content is not coming up in searches, only words form the page title.

I’m working on a test sever so the search is not on live.

What I’m trying to get to is searching only the FAQ pages (I’ve added categories to these pages and made all the pages thus far categorised as FAQ).

Your help will be much appreciated as it will be exactly what I need.

    Thanks

    Hi

I’ve tried replacing the file but I’m still getting pages come up that are not associated to any category.

Aside to this, it is it possible to have the search on a different page that searches a different specified category?

    Thanks

    Hi!

So with the suggested change pages without assigned categories should show up regardless of the exclusion – since they are not assigned anywhere.

Without the change pages without assigned categories won’t show up if any exclusion is set. (buggy behavior)

Is this correct? On my test environments this is working correctly.

I’ve read through the conversation again, and you want the pages without categories act as if they were in the “Uncategorized” category? So if you exclude uncategorized, then the pages without categories are excluded, if not, then they are left there.
In this case please try this modification: https://gist.github.com/anag0/b6026a28c46b3cbe6b1a5d96efaf8200

Sorry about the questions, I’m usually after work answering these tickets, and I’m a bit tired/slower by now ??

As for the other question. Having multiple search instances is only available for the pro version of the plugin. This one only supports the single shortcode with the same configuration.

    Hi

Any page that has not been assigned a category is still coming up in the search. For now I have gone through all my pages and made sure they are categorized as Uncategorized. They then don’t come up in the search as required, but this does really on content authors remembering to categorise pages whenever creating new ones.

I’ve implemented https://gist.github.com/anag0/b6026a28c46b3cbe6b1a5d96efaf8200 but still no joy.

This only happens because we are searching custom fields. When I used your search on a site with just regular pages then it did exclude all page that were not categorized.

Happy to purchase the pro version if we can get the styling on an iPhone working, as it is far to difficult to use in it’s current state (I’m pushing live soon so can send a live example).

    Thanks

    Hi!

Well, I’m out of ideas, I honestly don’t know what’s causing this.

I have the “Search all custom fields?” option enabled, the “Uncategorized” category excluded and still getting the correct results. Every page under the “Uncategorized” category excluded, and the pages without any categories as well.

There must be something else I’m missing, but I don’t know what ??

I’ve answered the other topic as well about the input zoom issue. There is not much information about that available. One thing for sure is that it happens when the screen is zoomed out on page load to fit the mobile screen. For example using the default “twenty sixteen” theme it doesn’t, because the screen stays on a fixed ratio. Same thing with the plugin demo page.
My guess is that the width of your site might be over the width of the mobile screen and it’s zoomed out. In this case, I think there is no way of preventing the input field zoom.

Custom fileds – The plugin finds the results but the content is not displayed only the title.
    How to fix this?
