Custom Field doesn't get recognized

    Everything works great and the plugin does what it should, but I have a problem with the Video Thumbnails custom field. Firstly, I am using a custom field of my own for the video (video_url), and everything works great.

    Now the problem is with Video Thumbnails custom field. When I select it in GD Star Rating widget (GD Star Rating widget-> Get Image From-> Custom Field-> video_thumbnail), the thumbnail is blank without source just the alt title <img alt=”OXI!” src=”” width=”38″ height=”38″>

    I have used other custom fields with GD Star Rating and it’s working so its not GD’s problem.

    Thanks again for your plugin, if the custom field worked it would be perfect.

    The custom field the video thumbnail URL gets stored in is named “_video_thumbnail”, so make sure you have the first underscore.

    I was quick to judge. I am sorry. Its GD’s problem as it omits (from my understanding) the first underscore.

    GD Star Rating gives you a list with the custom fields and I get only “video_thumbnail” without the underscore.

    Anyway, its not Video Thumbnails problem. Thank you very much for your quick reply.

    The initial underscore makes it a hidden custom field, so they must not be showing hidden ones. The one without the underscore is actually a custom field used on the image attachments to identify that it was created by Video Thumbnails. The GD Star Rating plugin doesn’t seem to appear on the WordPress directory, so unfortunately there’s not much I can suggest. The only possibility I can think of is making sure the plugin is setting the video thumbnail as the featured image if there’s a setting like Get Image From -> Featured Image.

    There are three settings, no image, first image from the content and custom field.

    This is the plugin https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/gd-star-rating. I don’t know why they removed it, three days ago it was there and had millions of downloads…

    Anyway I probably will be looking for another rating plugin.
