Custom field menu randomly missing?

  • Hi,

    Not sure whats going on, but for some reason the drop down menu for the custom fields randomly disappeared. I was initially using 2.6 and thought maybe I needed to upgrade, but that wasn’t the case after I upgraded to 2.7. Is this a bug?

  • Not sure what the deal is there, but in WP 2.7 you can purposely hide the custom fields area in the Write Post screen, by clicking “Screen Options” at the top-right of the Write New Post screen. Check that. This feature did not exist in WP 2.6, however.

    I can see the custom field section, the drop down menu for the name field is missing. This could get very confusing if you have a number of keys. Any solution to this?

    Try it in different browsers? IE, Firefox, Chrome… same?

    Have you done anything that could have caused this, such as hacking any core files?

    Try disabling all your plugins, and see if the problem is still there?

    Yeah no luck in other browsers for both PC & Mac
