Custom Field Template documentation?

Hi all,

I found the Custom Field Template plugin that looks like it does exactly what I am looking for (adding new fields of custom content type) to a page or post to use WP more as a CMS. Is that correct? If I ask it’s because I am not really sure I understand how it works. The description is very technical. The author’s page is Japanese? Does anyone know where to find some decent tutorial about it or the english documentation?
