    Hi there,

Your plugin is really cool. Thank you.

I have a question around support for custom fields.

Revisionary doesn’t store custom fields when an Advanced Custom Field is changed. Even when updating the title and the content area they are ignored. I haven’t tested normal custom fields.

Do you have any idea what the problem might be? Could a hook be firing too soon?

    Thank you.

Damien, custom field revisioning is a complex undertaking, especially when third party plugin code is involved. This edition of Revisionary does not support it, but we are planning to offer a Pro version which will.

    Hi Kevin,

    Many thanks.

It is highly likely there is something I am missing however; aren’t custom field’s data sent in the same POST request when the page is updated?

Off the top of my head… if it were I, I would take some of the posts data, md5 hash it and check that hash for uniqueness on each post update.

Can you please let me know when the Pro version will be released? In the meantime I’ll patch it.

Keep in mind that custom fields generally use a different UI, sometimes with Ajax updating separate from the $_POST submission. The plugin has to prevent those from updating the published revision meta fields directly. Then there is also the issue, for revision edit, of displaying that custom field UI on a URI other than post.php.

We’ll follow up once Revisionary Pro is available.

I would find this addition to be super helpful as all the pages I wish to update in advance use the custom fields. @kevinb Keep me in mind if you are looking for beta testers for the pro version which can work on custom fields!

Thanks @neil_cutcliffe. A quick update on this:

The Pro version is now out with ACF support: https://publishpress.com/blog/publishpress-revisions-pro/

The Free version will updated as soon as today, if all goes well.
