Custom Fields Don’;t Save Data In A Custom Post Type

I’m using pods on site. The business I’m working for wanted a custom post type (events) and to be able to update all the details themselves on the back end. So Pods seemed the obvious answer. The problem I’m having is that when data is input into the back end fields on a custom post type, the post doesn’t save the data that’s inputted. So naturally it only ever displays the default data on the front-end.

Anyone else encountered this problem? What’s the fix for this?
