• I have added a custom field into a recurring event where it says “Add New Custom Field:” After I add values, the values field is blank.
    The custom fields and values show up on an instance of an event, but only after I save the event. If I refresh the page they are not displayed anymore. I have read the documentation about the custom fields, but none of this makes any sense to me. Could someone please point me to an example of how to use a custom field?

    Edit: I didn’t realize that the New Custom Field box is a WordPress thing and not unique to this plugin.

  • I don’t use “custom fields”… so I couldn’t speak to that specifically.

    I use “attributes” .
    In EM->Settings->General Options
    ->Event Settings
    scroll down to “Enable event attributes?” and check the box “Yes”
    you would then in the box below enter your attribute… for example
    #_ATT{Phone Number}

    Don’t forget to save your settings.
    On your admin side->Edit(add) Event.. don’t forget to check in “Screen Options” to show the Attributes Meta Box

    So now on your “add/edit” Event you will have the “attribute” Phone Number where you can add a phone number.

    You will need to add the attribute to your “templates” which is actually under
    EM->Settings
    ->Formatting
    ->Events Page
    scroll down to “Single Event Page”
    and you would add the attribute where you want it to appear.
    ie: #_ATT{Phone Number} where you want it to appear.

    If you want that attribute to show in your Event List(s) add it to the that part of the “Formatting” section “Default event list format”.

    All the above will also work for Locations.. with slightly different attribute code…
    #_LATT{Blah Blah Blah}

    You might prefer the “Attributes” approach than Custom Fields.
