Custom fields for shows

    Is it possible to use custom fields to add extra information to a Show which can be accessed on the front end?

    For example, to set a value to show whether a show takes phone calls which could be used to add the phone number to the current show on the home page? Or to set whether a show has ‘now playing’ artist and title data or not, to determine whether to show the artist and title or a placeholder.

    If the values were in the API but not widgets it would still be useful.

    Hey, sorry for the delayed reply. Just been busy with some other issues and haven’t checked this space all week.

    Okay, so Show Phone is already available to the Show Information field set. You should be able to add the Show Phone numbe in the text field provided and it will display once the phone number is entered and saved.

    There is a Now Playling Widget, but it is not dynamic. It is manual and updated whe you publish a new song to a Playlist. You can add it a a Shortcode or as a Widget.

    In Radio Station PRO, our persistent “sticky” footer player does display the current track title, artist, and thumbnail if that’s included in the audio feed URL and can be read by the player.

    So, you wouldn’t need a custom field for any of this as it already exists and is being improved upon as we release new versions.
