custom fields management interface

  • hello,
    I recently started using Polylang on a friend’s site (even locally, I can not give the address)
    Some informations:
    – permalinks settings: %%postname%%
    – Cover page = Articles
    – Polylang parameters: site-URL/en/post-name
    Everything seems to be working to translate the categories and articles (French -> English and Italian).
    But we also use custom fields to the end of the articles: I have not found an interface or how to prepare translations of custom fields to make them appear directly in the publishing of the article in other languages?

    Hello

    Could provide a copy screen of your wp admin where you fill these custom fields. Are they in the theme options? Which theme do you use?

    Thank you for your interest to my problem.
    I use Market Theme.
    Custom Fields aren’t include in this theme: I just use the native system in WordPress for custom fields, without any special plugin.

    This may be the same problem than here :

    So we are obliged to translate again the custom fields to each new article. And there is no interface to translate custom fields once and for all.

    The way Polylang works with the Languages > Setting tab > Synchronization “Custom fields”:

    Polylang synchronizes custom fields: it means that all your custom fields from the original post are copied in the translated posts.
    If you change these custom fields in one of your translated post and save
    => you crush all your previous custom fields (orginal post + translated posts).

    Unsynchronizes custom fields: for each post you must translate manually your custom fields.

    But when I open the translation of an article, I can’t find the custom fields: they are not added automatically.
    Anyway, if we can not modify the translation without overwriting the original values, so we have to go through a systematic manual translation.
    It’s a shame ?? Though it works very well for categories.

    On the top right of your wp admin click on “Screen options” and check custom fields.

    Anyway, if we can not modify the translation without overwriting the original values

    You can do that in Synchronization => uncheck custom fields.

    It’s a shame ?? Though it works very well for categories

    Because it exists a translation table for category but not for custom fields.
