Custom Fields not appearing in Organisation or Company

When I configure “Custom Fields” in Jetpack CRM settings they appear in all “Viewing Contact” pages custom fields tabs – or any other place that they are supposed to. But custom fields for Companies (or as configured Organisations) they do not appear. There is a message on screen: “No custom fields have been set up yet. Click here to manage custom fields” However following the link displays the custom fields in settings as I have configured. If I edit the Company (or Organisation) I can enter data in the custom fields and the data is saved so I can see it when retuning to the record.
This is only mildly annoying, but obviously isn’t working quite as expected. Any ideas where I would start looking for a solution?
