    Using V 4.03

I am not a coding person but know enough to get em kn trouble with my CSS guys and friends.

That said, I just downloaded this Plugin to use on my site and really like it so far yet I am having problems displaying thumbnail images. I know I can go and set a “Featured” image for all of my posts but that’s a lot of time I don’t have right now.

I have been using the Custom Field Feature on all my posts with a Thumbnail. I was wondering if I can tell YARPP to use the Custom Field link rather than the Featured Image link to display thumbnails because all it’s displaying now are gray lines. Thanks for any help on this.

  • I’m having the same problem. I attach a unique or related picture as thumbnail on every post, but it doesn’t show on related articles under YARPP. Unlike you, I have no idea about coding or programing.

I just switched to WordPress Related Posts and/or LinkWithin and/or nRelate. All of those work well with Thumbnails and are easy to set up without coding anything. Personally, I like nRelate and WordPress Related Posts much better. Check those out and see if you need to switch. I did!

Check out my page – blog.sethhancock.com – and see that I just created an easy nRelate plugin on the Home (Index) page and on my posts.

I actually just made it work. It turns out that YARPP looks for the featured image to display as thumbnails under related posts or articles so as we write or create a post we are supposed to set the feature image for that particular post. Before this, I thought that the feature image was a universal setting, so I just kept it empty.

Thanks for the heads up on the other plugins!

@adguy31 indeed, YARPP only looks at the WordPress builtin “post thumbnail/featured image” feature, not custom fields. Thanks for trying YARPP.

@agastelum glad that worked for you. ??
