    Hello,
Any way to have a custom footer that won’t be overwritten if there’s an update? Trying to do this without a child theme.

  • What are you trying to do? If you’re just trying to change colors or fonts, you could do that with a custom CSS plugin, but if you’re trying to make large-scale changes, you’ll need a child theme to protect your modifications.

I’m trying to add some text and a link, that’s all.

Your theme supports a footer menu, so you might be able to fake it that way, but it would be better to create a child theme.

Hmmm, okay. It is a workaround, not a solution. Thanks for your help!
